The Children's Christian Ministry (CCM) at FUMC has been designed to help children learn more about God's love and about the world He has created The good news of God's love is the central message of this program.
CCM hopes to provide positive life experiences that will help children grow in the understanding of God's love. Through this growth it is our hope that CCM will also provide experiences for children that will enable them to develop a good self image, foster creativity, teach appreciation for the world that God has created and to develop an awareness that God created them in His own image.

Teaching Strategy:
Focus: How children relate in God's world and with those around them.
Goal: To provide children a Christian atmosphere where they are treated with respect and to show them that God loves them and so do we. We also hope to instill an enthusiasm for learning and provide children with the necessary skills they will need to help them adjust to kindergarten.
How we teach: We use a staff developed curriculum that incorporates thematic units and Christian values. It is our philosophy that children "learn by doing". Our classrooms are divided into centers, allowing a child to become more independent, responsible, cooperative, and compassionate. These centers help our kids to think, explore, and experiment. It also helps them to think for themselves, make decisions and form new friendships.
