We were very fortunate to have Pastor Hassan Boyle of Grace Fellowship Family Church in Dundalk, Ireland, give a teaching at FUMC on March 18, 2015.  Tricia Brown was a worship leader in Pastor Boyle's church  for many years prior to marrying JD.  To listen to Pastor Boyle's message, click here or the image above.

Mark: the Original Gospel.  For the next 45 days FUMC will be walking with Jesus from the beginning of his preaching ministry through to the cross and resurrection of Easter.

Jesus hears these words, “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”  at the start of his preaching.  A Roman soldier proclaimed, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”  These great truths serve as the bookends of faith for the Gospel of Mark.  Jesus = The Father’s pleasure.  Jesus = the trustworthy Son.

Throughout the “middle” of his life Jesus does not mess around.  His power conquers sickness, nature, and evil.  He speaks clear words of truth that challenge anybody who wants to follow him.  He stands up to the twisted “rules” of self-righteous religious types.  He cares for the hurting and the outsiders. He willingly gives up his life on the cross.  He is resurrected to a new life as the Lord of all that exists.
Jesus calls to you and me with the same words he spoke 2,000+ years ago, Come Follow me! Will you follow?  Will your life be changed?
